Destructive MF'ers. I have killed 26 of them this year with a tennis racket. They are tough too. I hung 4 traps on my house and probably have another 20 in them. Just about 100 more to go and I will be free until they return next spring.
I have my guns and jewelry (wife's wedding ring) under my homeowners. It is cheap IMO. Covers fire, theft, etc. I am meeting with my agent next week in order to review my coverage so I will check it then to be sure what else may be covered.
I use Kast King super braid. Never let me down with 30# in the surf and 20-30 in the bay for stripers and the unfortunately small blues we have. I will sometimes top it with fluoro leader when the fish are picky.
ETA: good test on the fluoro vs mono in the post above. I choose it certain...
Check Angler's in Annapolis/Cape St. Claire. They have a selection of consignment guns. No telling if they have any O/U's at the moment. You can sometimes negotiate those prices depending if the consignee left any room to play.
I just had Tall Tree Service out of Severna Park come out and take down 3 trees, grind two stumps and trim/shape two others. They had 8 guys out here. about 3 hours later everything was done, blowers and raking was done and other than some sawdust, you would never even know they were here. Price...
To tag onto this. Any source for reasonably priced molds? I have been looking for a while as I would like to make some pyramid sinkers and some slide sinkers. I do keep my eye on eBay and FB for them.
It did. I called it quits after that but mostly because the tide was almost dead low and I had been out there for 6 hours with just 3 other fish in the cooler.
Surf fishing this past week in DE. I had 4 kingfish and a spot and then there was this Cownose Ray. Took me an hour to land him. He nearly spooled me twice. It was on my lighter 9' rod of course. He had a wingspan of about 4' and I got him on a kingfish rig with a #6 hook. Probably 50-60 lbs.
