What will the penalties be for carrying in a prohibited area if the law stands?

If I recall, a conviction does not prohibit firearms ownership?

From attending the below yesterday. It's pretty much going to be unlawful except where posted. And apparently even specific prohibited places like all schools, day care and medical facilities...won't matter if they have this sign, still wouldn't be legal to carry. Looks like any place with a liquor license will be off limits as well, even if you're in a restaurant and not drinking.

Inform the owners of any establishment you support to start posting these signs and also complain to their lawmakers. No sign, no sale.

Baltimore to charge a year in jail and $1,000 fine for possession in a 'safe space'.

New MD Firearms Legislation and how does it affect you?

This seminar will cover the new Maryland 2023 Legislative changes effective October 1, 2023 that affect Maryland handgun permits and firearms in general, as well as applicable legal challenges. Attorneys and subject matter experts will be presenting and available for one on one discussion.

It doesn’t but your permit can be revoked for carrying where it’s not legal.

And THAT is how MGA finally makes OFWGs criminals.

Take it with a grain of salt , and your best grown ups decision making process , as to the difference to you , if any , between Criminal vs Criminal that is also Prohibited .

I'm sure it has been addressed, but why hasn't a stay been issued?
Because the law needs to go into affect to create harm to a defendant, who then gains standing. Courts only take cases founded on actual harm, not hypotheticals. I'm fairly certain the paperwork has already been drawn up ( by MSI?) and is waiting on the front desk for the law to go into affect.

They had a segment on Fox45 about SB1 going in effect Oct. 1. They showed the BS of how much the bill would make everyone safer when it was presented. Then a counter view by the police union president and the head of the FOP both saying how this did nothing but to penalize citizens, one of them even said they should have had a special session of the MGA called to get rid of it.

I must have missed some things. I thought in Maryland only sheriffs come out against anti-2A bills/laws. To the police who understand reality, welcome!

Both the union president and head of the FOP should be coming out to declare that their members refuse to enforce this unconstitutional law. If any LEO enforces these infringements, they should be viewed as tyrants and shunned by society by name. They have a choice to stand with the people and constitution or against them.

Do you happen to know how many/if any fired cops, EMTs or teachers they got rehired for defying them and not getting the jab?
