Pretty sure the opinion and a link to it will be posted on here the very hour it comes down, maybe sooner. E-mail notification for this thread will work just as well since there will probably be 100 new posts in this thread within 10 minutes. E-mail should be on fire.

This time people will wait 2 weeks.

The panel who heard this case just released an opinion yesterday for the first case they heard the same day as ours. The good news for us is that King wrote the opinion released yesterday, and he is probably the most likely to rule against us. Since they like to split the opinion writing evenly if possible, and since the case yesterday was 3-0, I'd assume our case's opinion has been assigned to Traxler or Agee. That bodes well for us.

4-6 months is a true realistic timeframe on this case. I keep telling myself that and will be joyful when it happens earlier.

I do not know a lot but I know that the Court is not going to affirm the lower court's decision. That opinion was grounded in neither fact nor the law. I just pray that there is enough in the record for the court to rule on the legal issues so that they don't have to remand it back to the lower court for further fact finding and additional "reflection".

i know the "so my glock with a 15 round magazine on my nightstand isnt protected by the 2A because its a semi automatic?" comment/question gives me hope of a total smackdown.

That was a great moment of the oral argument. It's like this white lady who "feels like" she's black and who, when asked if she is African-American, responded, "I don't understand the question."

I'm a lawyer. I get having to represent your clients' interests and taking their positions, but there is a line beyond which everything becomes complete BS.

This is the most optimistic post I've seen in a while. If only it actually worked that way.

Well, that settles it. Now, I can sleep pretty soundly tonight.
