Yesterday I submitted applications for 2 HK handguns to be added to the "approved" list in Maryland (sorry, the P30SK was not one). The process was easy and the paperwork simple and intuitive. I wanted to meet the mythical Ms. Marlene Jenkins, who is the Handgun Roster Board Administrator. So I drove to the MSP HQ to hand in my documents in person (I could have mailed them). Ms. Jenkins is every bit the lovely person everyone says.
Ms. Jenkins indicated that one of the key board members will not be available in May, so the next board meeting is going to be in late June. She also said this current board is very "pro" and felt that although there have been some recent rejections, by and large the board looks for ways to approve proposals rather than reject them.
Anyway, if anyone has questions on the process please feel free to reach out to me. I know typically our Industry Partners tend to submit new proposals, but there's no reason the average citizen (like me) can't do it as well.
