Ugh. You're returning it I hope? How stupid to so poorly pack a valuable item. Best of luck getting a refund.

    That does suck.:sad20:
I'm curious what the shipping box itself looked like when it arrived? It would take a pretty sharp blow to crack a stock that bad in shipment without damage being apparent on the box at delivery.

From the creases on the box it looks like something very heavy landed against during shipping and almost folded the box in half.

My guess is it was shipped that way. The heavy thing to have nailed it would have had to be on a freight line's truck. Firearms aren't shipped on a freight line unless it's a stack of 'em and they're palletized.

If he won't accept a return and you end up stuck with it, let me know. That can be fixed.

I just fixed one just like it.

Since he said there are very few numbers on it, I would surmise that there are none on the stock, so matching numbers wouldn't be an issue. If that's the case, wouldn't he be better off replacing it?

I've got a very expensive camera stuck in USPS limbo ("Priority Two-Day" is now on day six). It showed up yesterday at a post office about 30 miles away, but they don't ship things directly to my local USPS office. No clue why it was sent there. USPS tracking is a joke. They don't bother to scan stuff most places.

Anyway, seeing this isn't giving me much hope that I'll be using that camera for Christmas. GOK what it's going to look like when/if it finally shows up. Clearly, nobody cared about what was in your box. They probably stood on it to get something of the top of the next pile.
