Yep. It stays in that status until approved.
Awesome. Thank you.

I don't know. But maybe MD says you're making and possessing a copycat after 10-1 and therefore prohibited. I don't think they care what it was before 10-1 as long as it was a complete SBR or a pistol.. What they seem to be saying is you're making a copycat after 10-1 and therefore illegal if OAL < 29"But, if you had made it into a pistol before 10-1 and before you put in a Form 1, what happens then ?
Started the process on putting together trust documents this morning with the intention of building a SBR. Looks like I picked a poor time to try and get into this.
Also a VERY good time, as approvals are taking about 3 weeks, rather than 9 months.
ATF approvals?
Yes, form 1 approvals are running 3-4 weeks lately if submitted online.
You don't need to have the upper when you get your approval. You can do it later.
Yeah, wish Form 4s were that quick.
You can still build an SBR, it just needs to be >29" OAL. (at least for now)
I'm sure this has been asked already and yes i used the search function. But I have a lower that was transferred as 0 other and i make pistol out out of it and added the sig brace. My upper is 10.5 long. what is the OAL length it needs to be for it be considered a pistol? I am thinking about doing a sbr down the line but i think adding a 6 position collapsible stock with the 10.5 upper it might not be considered a SBR due to the length..
what 2 features does it have?
