Armatix iP1 is one ugly looking gun. Finally something that makes a glock look sexy.
Short version.
WaPo did a hit piece and effectively made Andy and EA into pariahs in the eyes of the 2A community for something that didn't happen and the WaPo twisted to suit it's agenda.
Andy posted a vid and said some things to refute the things that the WaPo said, and had one hell of a good rant.
After Andy posted said vid, the WaPo changed the byline and the story to reflect that after getting death threats he had changed his mind. Unfortunately, he never stocked, nor sold the guns in the first place. Therefore, the stories were misleading and full of inaccurate info.
Pretty much the MSM demonizing gun stores for something and instead of issuing a retraction, they do this to cover their ass. Andy is still feeling the fall out and the heat from the BS that the WaPo did.

...ehehehe. It also reminds me of my avatar. I'm of a firm belief that the ATFE should be a convenience store.
He knew what he was getting into and I feel like this was all a ploy for some free advertising. I support his right to sell whatever he wants but I can't help but feel this was just a case of attention whoring to draw attention to himself.
If you can create a smart gun, you can easily create a shut-off system that can be controlled from a central (gov't) location.
Engage will came out of this BETTER then when they went in.
Screw the pusscake whiners.
I am a responsible gun owner and I also am responsible with guns in my home with children.I do not need someone dictating nor mandating technology to prevent your so called accidental exakples.
There are evil people in this world that will always do evil things no matter what. No technology will prevent that.
Should I also link to you stories of children saving their parents/sibilings with dads gun?
You may not need it. I sincerely doubt that many of us here need it. But what about a fence-sitter who has been out once or twice and is thinking about a range toy, but has been scared stiff by the Anti-rights propaganda about kids finding guns and immediately shooting themselves? This might be the ONLY firearm they'd buy. We all know the best way to flip an Anti-gunner to the Pro-rights side is to take them shooting, let them see how fun it is, and make them want one of their own.
It's the politicians who want to use this technology to advance their anti-rights agenda that are the problem, not the technology itself. But I'm with the doc on this one - they don't NEED an excuse, they're going to do what they want to push their agenda regardless.

Lets do a quick hypothetical.
Somebody who is considering this and has at least ~$1800 to lay down.
Swap out this smart gun with an M&P .22. Lets put it at ~$400. That leaves $1400 that could be spent on a safe for the pistol. Or 1 safe for the pistol and secondary "secure" storage for ammunition. Not to mention you could always have a secondary lock on the pistol while it is in the safe.
Would that not be better than $1800 spent on a smartgun and no safe at all?

Imagine sending a signal to shut down the guns at the Bundy Ranch.
If they can institute a no fly zone they can institute a no shoot zone.
