Out of curiosity, what's the likelihood that HBARs will get banned sooner rather than later? I know we have some members who are really up to date on the proposals and plans by the GA, so I figured I'd ask. Probably going to be forced to jump on the bandwagon before it's too late.

Nothing at all seriously mentioned this session.

I haven't heard any pressure to do it, but given the right excuse I'm sure the Democratic Machine in Annapolis would push for it, depending on the 2014 election results of course.

No chance this session. Next session... who knows? I think it's unlikely, but if some idiot causes a mass casualty event with one, all bets are off.

The good news is, even if something does happen next session, you will have PLENTY of advance warning to go out and buy something.

I think the achieved their post-Newtown victory by passing SB281 and until there is another tragedy for them to exploit we won't see another concentrated effort to pass gun control. Not that they won't introduce bills, they always do. Certain members will always push gun control. But to get the Governor and legislative leadership involved takes an opportunity like Newtown presented them.

    I expect it in 2015.

They don't want to stir the hornet's nest in an election year.

    This is the big point.

We WILL be rolled over, if we allow them.

Vote, be active, and get in front of any of these issues. It's far more important to do this, than to lament the "what-ifs" before they are even proposed.

All I can say is this: I saw a bunch of people telling me how HBARs would be banned for sure this year. Didn't happen. No one REALLY knows what's going down until the bills get submitted. The rest of it is guesswork and paranoia.

Bottom line is there will always be a battle between firearm and non firearm factions. They are just too opposed to stop trying. The fight breaks out whenever any side thinks they have the political advantage. The 2nd ammendment doesn't matter to the other side. It matters a lot to us.

Not sure paranoia has a whole lot to do with it.

    2013 was real enough.

Some of us predicted nothing would happen in the February 2014 silly season because of the November 2014 silly season.

The same some of us are predicting an onslaught against our rights in 2015. Guns, Ammo, Re-loading Supplies, Tightening of 2013, Etc...

Then they will lay low again in February of 2016 to protect their own in November of 2016.

Of course this is all mostly speculation with a smidgeon of paranoia, but there is a cycle and a method to their madness.

Thanks for all the responses, everyone. It's too bad I even felt the need to ask the question, but there it is. I'll probably end up with one at some point. I'd like to get one while prices are still affordable before the next gun control scare.

That's right, IF there are major sweeps in November, they won't dare make a move.

The commies will win. The ducks are all lined up, and we who are on the wrong side will lose. These liberal states on the east coast are trying to out do each other with the most blatant laws against freedom that they will never stop. Piece by piece they have destroyed the 2nd amedment starting a long time ago. We have had laws against that will keep getting worse. First it was a 7 day waiting period now they are trying to pass no release till they decide. 20 round mag restriction then 10. This list goes on. Anybody that thinks they will stop is in a fantasy land. One degree at a time.
