current ATF wait time

Paperwork went pending February 7th, got the call today that the paperwork was in the shop. Gemtech multimount.

Sounds like about 7 months. ATF cashed my check beginning of March so, I'm hoping for a stamp by early October...

NFA tracker still doesn't have much/any data on people who've submitted recently....so it's still assuming that your package goes pending in a couple weeks. I'd plan to add at least 2 months onto whatever it says now...that's how much mine jumped when I input my pending date.

I checked NFTracker and it shows a bunch around the same time mine went Pending and 2nd Pending and those are approved but mine is still waiting. Oh well. Will wait some more.

WHere does it show 2nd pending on NFA Tracker? I've never seen that before. EDIT: Nevermind, just looked. They literally must have JUST updated that in the last day or two.

I believe you and I understand. I'm not holding my breath. If I get it back by next September, I'll be happy. I'll be putting in a Form 4 for a suppressor here in the next month or so too.

At least this time I'm doing a Form 1, so I have a gun to shoot in the meantime. The only downside is the stupid 16" heavy barrel it has... but I'm sure it'll just make chopping and threading it just that much sweeter in the meantime. Just means I have more time to stock up on mags and accessories.

When did your Form1 on the AMD go Pending? I have a Form1 that went in at the same time and am just curious.

No idea when it went pending. I don't call them, I usually just watch NFAtracker.

As for the story, someone posted that they bought a Sig 556 out of state, the FFL got audited/beaten down by the BATFE, and the MSP dispatched troops to go check his purchases. His Sig 556 was deemed "regulated" by the troopers, which is obviously not the policy we're familiar with. Ergo, there is now some paranoia that the 556 will be banned.

I'm not sure I necessarily agree with that, and see it more as a pair of troopers that didn't know the current enforcement of the law, but better safe than sorry.

I called up the ATF today about a question I had filling out the form and they mentioned there is currently a 7-9 month wait to receiving your stamp.

I have two form 4 pending since Feb 13, 2013. My examiner is C. Ferris and I heard she is the slowest of them all. According to NFA tracker she is taking up to 246 days to process!

Great I am at 226 days now. Interesting that Dana Pickles is suppose to be the examiner for MD, but Chris Ferris gets the forms to approve. No biggie, just an observation.

Took me exactly 3 weeks to get the CLEO sign off. (Harford County Sheriff Bane)
Mailed everything yesterday to BATFE, received by them today.

Check cashed 9/19/13 for my Form 1 SBR on a Trust. Dana Pickles approved a 5320.20 form I faxed in a few weeks ago, so I assume he'll be my reviewer.

Based on that, and the fancy analysis on NFA tracker I have a 98% chance of having it back by June. I'll call at the end of next month and see when it goes pending so I can update NFA tracker.

Check cashed to pending is taking 8+ weeks right now. Calling at the 4 week mark isn't gonna do you any good.
