This might be a bit off topic, but why is he being tried in the first place?
To put it bluntly... because Trayvon Martin was black and Zimmerman is a white hispanic.

It was my understanding from what I read that when Zimmerman initially called it in, the police told him to back off and only observe. It sounds to me like he tried to take matters into his own hands, THEN got attacked, and was forced to try to defend himself against a younger, stronger, faster person who was intent on beating the snot out of him.
Some will argue that it was fists against guns, but I remember seeing this on TV - this female officer, Michelle Jeter, almost died from those punches, or at least that's how it was portrayed on TV.

Ok - that's reasonable. I was just putting it out there from what I had read about it from the spin-cycle news media. The media spun it up like he was a weekend warrior who didn't know when to quit. That is not how it happened. This has been hashed out over and over. He was asked by the 911 dispatcher AFTER he ran after Martin "What are you doing?". Zimmerman stated he was following Martin. Then the 911 dispatcher stated "We don't need you to do that". Zimmeran said "ok". At this time he had lost contact with Martin and the pursuit was over. It's actually quite obvious that Martin doublebacked and confronted Zimmerman.

So how many jurors were accepted today?
You would think the NSA would be able to answer that question...
(or is it?)
If the courts find Zimmerman not guilty, there will be riots, possibly worse than the L.A riots.
If the courts find Zimmerman not guilty, there will be riots, possibly worse than the L.A riots. It will be interesting to watch this unfold. I just wonder how they will pick a jury. This has been all over the news. Most people already have their minds made up one way or the other
