Please share with us how to mod Csspec mag to be used in both Vepr and M77ps. Thanks.

I know Vepr (Csspec) mag is wider - but not sure by how much.

    Csspecs V308 mag to M77

More pics will come with explanation. Computers were not part of my generation but I am learning slowly. There are Gen 1 and Gen 2 Csspecs V308 mags. The Gen 1 is easier to mod. I only had to dremel front lug.

    Csspecs mags front

From left to right. Gen 1 with mod, Gen 2 no mod, Gen 2 with mod. Notice how the Gen 1 is squared on the upper front reenforcement corners. The Gen 2 is rounded. On the Gen 1 all I did was dremel the face of front lug and take a little off the top of lug.

    Csspecs mags rear lugs

From left to right Gen 1( no mod necessary) , Gen 2 no mod, Gen 2 with mod. Notice how the rear lugs are mounted between the different Gens. You can see on the Gen 2 with mod where I removed metal to make fit. I dont think removing the metal underneath the lug was necessary.

Csspecs mag side view rear lug blocks

From front to rear. Gen 1 no mod necessary, Gen 2 no mod, Gen 2 with mod. Notice the difference in thickness of rear lug mounting blocks. The Gen 1 is much thinner. I removed alot of metal above the lug for fitting on Gen 2.

What stock is that? That looks great. Is there a wood stock like that with or without the thumbhole available?

Thank you. I believe it is one of the old school Romy G thumbhloes. Its made out of Commie plywood. Heavy and strong. I took the recoil pad from the factory stock and screwed it on to give length absorb recoil and balance rifle. I coated the stock and handguards with rubberized Leak Seal from Home Depot. The hardest part was modding the standard squareback AK stock to fit rear of M77. I drilled all the way through the stock to use factory bolt to rear of m77 receiver. I also drilled another hole to put screw up through grip.

Don't know about Saiga, but Verp 308 and 7.62x54 are good to go. However, you just have find FFL holder who is willing to do transfer for you at reasonable cost.

They SHOULD be legal, as they are in their imported, sporter configurations. All my Saigas and Veprs have been purchased unregulated, legally. Depends on the FFL ultimately. There are a few on here that sell them, Duffy's being one I believe.

So is the M77 legal because it it RPK based? So Saiga'a and vepr's in 308 and 7.62 x 54r good to go?

    No, Sirex explains below:

They SHOULD be legal, as they are in their imported, sporter configurations.

When I bought my Saiga, it was cash and carry. Now it's considered an AK, illegal in Communist Maryland.

Well it is not especially when Vince is selling a sporter AK in this thread here.

I guess PLS's should be good to go too then? I am going to be soo broke this year!:party29:

If you get it you have to remove the muzzle brake and make suse there is no bayonet lug.
