Winter's Preview in Garrett County

Alas, autumn glory is over and the trees are bare once again. Boats and docks are out of Deep Creek Lake and fallen leaves are a nuisance to be dealt with. The forecast for overnight temps is well below freezing for the next week. Snow is on its way.

As usual it will be many months before spring brings us warmer days and flowers. It is what it is.

It could be much worse. Sandy hit us two years ago in late October. That was a devastating weather event.

Even old Jojo is enjoying some "early winter snow". If Jojo is prepared for winter, so are we!

Enjoy our Garrett winter. Stay safe while you do.

Yes, I had a heck of a time putting it back together with my thumb in a splint, but it up and running.
There's no doubt it will get used, it just a matter of when.

Thanks for your good wishes. The pic was taken shortly after Jojo received 400 mls of sub Q fluid and became the "Hunchback of McHenry" for another evening. Good beagle, Jojo!

Ice boat sailing will not take away from shooting but should be fun. Much better than running the snow-blower....
