I will be picking up a 1967 model 94 winchester in 30-30 next week for what i think is a good deal. What would be the ~value of this rifle? It is brand new in box never fired. Been hanging over a co-workers fireplace for almost 40 years.

I checked gunbroker, but was unable to get a good estimate, they are all over the place.

If he has used his fireplace, there can be damage inside the firearm, especially rust, but also warping. I'd look it over very carefully. If the rifle was just a few years older and in pristine condition, it would be worth a fair bit, maybe 800-1200 without original box. As a 1967, in perfect shape, I'd expect it to normally sell for 400-500 dollars.
