In the spring, the trees and grasses bring GREEN to Garrett Co with the promise of warm weather fun. The daffodils have bloomed and withered. Robins are nesting. It's time to plant our flowers, tomatoes and other annual plants outside so they can bring us summer beauty and fruit! Right? ====> WRONG!

We who live in the mountains aren't fooled by the few nice days and nights we get in April and May. Here's why:

FROST IS LIKELY LATER FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY MORNING ALONG AND NORTH OF PENNSYLVANIA ROUTE 422...EXTENDING SOUTH ACROSS THE
LAUREL RIDGES...AND THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF NORTHERN WEST
VIRGINIA AND GARRETT COUNTY MARYLAND. ELSEWHERE PATCHY FROST IS
    POSSIBLE.

(P.S.) All those wonderful green leaves? We'll be dealing with them come September...

    But it's all good.

This month's weather has been wacky. It can't decide whether it wants to be March or July.
