Why are my photos sideways?

Every time I post a picture it post sideways is there a way to turn them in editing mode?

Yes. When you're in the edit mode on an iPhone rotate your picture to the proper position if it needs to be rotated. Then, just crop the picture ever so slightly, hit the button that says "done" and it will post up straight. This process seems to "stake" the picture properly.

Annoying but don't know any other way around it.

If you are on a smartphone try using taptalk for uploading pics. It seems to make the whole process less tedious and the pics come out upright too.

After a somewhat laborious net search I stumbled across the links below and I think they might be violets:
