Ruger Red Label 12 Gauge doing 5 rounds of trap in succession. Still recovering as of almost 2 weeks ago. Just put a Limbsaver pad on it and waiting for the shoulder to recover before I try again.

338 win mag on a lightweight browning a-bolt stalker model (synthetic stock)
458 win mag and 375 h&h are worse as well, I wont shoot any of these 3 off a bench, sitting or off hand only

I'm going to have to add any old military rifle without a recoil pad. For whatever reason, a steel plate slides around on my shoulder while firing. 60 rounds of .303, followed by 30 rounds of 30-06, then 5 rounds of 7.62x54R will leave a mark. My Remington 700 in .300 WinMag has a 1.5" thick recoil pad. That and the muzzle brake makes for a nice shooting rifle.

YESTERDAY! My new Ruger Gunsite. First time for me shooting it. Shot about 15 rounds and have the waffle marks from the buttpad to show for it. Yowza.

Back in the '80s when we were still using lead shot for geese, I traded shotguns with my son for a couple of hours. I gave him my Browning Auto 5 and used his Remington 870 express with 3" 1 7/8 oz magnum loads. I think there's still a mark on my shoulder.
