Online, with a dealer that understands the law.

Remember, if it is not on the handgun roster, you can't have it.

Feel safer yet, remember, on election day, pull the D knob for "Dumber"

If it's not on the Handgun Roster but it was made before January 1, 1985, you can have it.

The laws here in the Democratic Socialist People's Republic of Maryland are so convoluted and confusing that many online dealers just take the easy way out and refuse to sell to Maryland residents. They often do that for NY, CA, NJ, MA, and HI too.

No problems with sales on Gunbroker (fingers crossed)

GunBroker is just a 'broker'. The 'seller' decides whether to ship to a state like MD, MA, NY, or CA. I know of 'buyers' who have gotten stuck in that situation. Most listing on GunBroker call out those terms, but I have always sent an e-mail to the seller before making a purchase, asking things like ...

Will you ship to Maryland ?
Does the handgun come with a spent shell casing ?
Do you have my local FFL on record in your database ?

    Better safe than sorry ...

Budsgunshop.com is one of the least expensive places I have purchased in quite some time. They had no issues sending "Assault" weapons to the FFL of my choice. Every gun shop I have visited in this crappy state think their asses are lined with gold and want to be paid for it.

    Welcome to the forum.

If your in Southern Maryland one of the best IP's (Industry Partners) in your area is Accurate Guns and Ammo, Loveville MD.

You can find their IP section here. http://www.mdshooters.com/forumdisplay.php?f=122

They are great people and have a good size inventory.

You can also try Keep Shooting www.keepshooting.com They are located in Waldorf but do not have a conventional store front. Here's a link to their IP section http://www.mdshooters.com/forumdisplay.php?f=127
Also great people to work with.

Buying online can give you a better selection then any brick and mortar store but you will loose most savings by paying shipping and transfer fees.

The Gun Connection in White Marsh is the best place I have ever been to in Md. They have the fairest price from any store I have seen and they are more than willing to help... I drive 1 1/2-2 hours to go there!

Welcome to the forum. I don't buy guns and no longer ammo from CTD.

I like 2A, but I've heard good things about the other Industry Partners, wouldn't hesitate to buy from any of them. If you know what you want, also consider BassPro.

I haven't been to 2A or gun connection (but am DYING to go to both) but to add to the last part of your post.

I would avoid bassPro like the plague unless no where else has it. I generally find that Dicks has better long gun prices and the IP's have better pistol prices. I found BassPro to be pretty high.

I actually used to work there but after leaving I only go there for specific items that I need quick otherwise I will order from Cabelas. For fishermen they are a GREAT place to get ideas but almost everything in the store can be found cheaper from other stores.

All that being said, the quality of their Bob Timberlake flanel shirts is pretty damn good.

Also a lot of people don't know this but if your in the area and stop in the store they sharpen knives for free at the hunting counter.

I agree with you on all points; there are a couple MDS/MSI members that work there I enjoy talking about guns with. Dicks around me stopped selling guns :(

Mark at 2A is good people. :)

When I first moved to Maryland I was also seriously considering buying a firearm from cheaperthandirt.com but after a lot of consideration I decided to purchase from a local dealer. It's important to support these guys. And when you break it down, you're really not saving that much money by purchasing online. You can even find great deals at some of these shops that end up being cheaper than online. I've personally had great experiences with 2A Sales and Engage Armament. Just my 2 cents though...
