What's the deal with the Kimber two tone?

It's a rare two-tone that appeals to me. They almost always look like a vehicle that's sporting one quarter panel and a hood from a different color wrecker, but hey, it was cheap, right? It can really diminish the classic aesthetics of - for instance - a 1911 pattern pistol. The Frankenpistol cobbled-together look comes across as somebody's parts project, not an intentional vision by the designer/maker. Everybody's got their own taste, of course, so not picking on anybody. Um, unless you DO drive that old Caprice with a mismatched quarter panel, obviously.

I agree. Your mismatched quarter panel analogy explains my feelings better than I could. Of course...some people like mismatched panels to show off their carbon fiber (or fake) hoods. I don't usually worry too much about a gun's appearance, but to me, it just looks unfinished and kinda ghetto.

Sig calls that style 'Nightmare'. Kimber has some, but I don't know if they have a name for it.

I like my Kimber eclipse target II in two tone. It does not look ghetto.

CZ makes some sexy ass pistols.

I don't think you read my post, including the part I quoted. I was not talking about the two tone.

Don't know if they offer it in that model, but pistols with dark frame and slide but stainless trigger, slide release and safety look good to me also.

My Dan Wesson Silverback looks pretty good to me. Also, when cleaning said firearm, it's easy to see where gunk is when the slide is not dark.
