Why would that happen?

I'm thinking the old " better twelve to judge me than six to carry me" rule applies here. Unreasonable search and fruit of the poison tree in column A. I use it only in a no sh1t life threatening situation is in column B. low risk from where I sit. Old Jamaican saying "they can only get your goat if you leave it out". If mine's out, I won't be the one getting jerked.
