Sounds good. And sorry if I came off as a jerk (or worse) before.I had no idea there were exemptions available. Even if there were, I'd have taken the training course regardless. My biggest fear, a thing I fear even more than the horror of having to use a gun in self-defense, is the legal aftermath. This is Maryland, a "duty to retreat" state, with a very anti-gun anti-defense group of prosecutors. Even if 16 hours wasn't required by MD, I'd have enrolled in any course I found that schooled me on all the legalities of conceal/carry here. It was well worth the money, though I must admit my mind isn't any more at ease because of it. If you're forced to fire your gun to save your life, you're still likely to get dragged through the courts it seems.
I also do intend to take additional training. I'd like my reaction in a "life or death" situation to be trained for to the point of becoming muscle memory. I know firsthand how shock, disbelief, & adrenaline can throw you for a loop in a sudden crisis. Training for it saves lives.
Any luck with this?...
However, I am going to rent one this weekend (probably the same one if I can find it), & try to figure out what was causing the malfunction. I also need to decide if I really want a Hellcat Pro or maybe I need to explore other micro subcompacts. I just have yet to even hear a single person hating on that gun so I'm 99% onboard with buying one.

Hmm...that may indeed be the updateIt's hard to type with two blowed-up hands...
How would that cause that issue unless it didn't extract?Unless I'm truly misunderstanding something, it sounds like you already had one in the pipe when you went to rack the slide.
Because the observation that racking the slide DID cause one to eject would be easily explained in just that way. His unorthodox way of loading up sounded like it could easily get confused into just that mode. How would that cause that issue unless it didn't extract?
He said he had the slide locked back, loaded a mag, and then slingshoted the slide closed. How would that cause a round to be ejected? Seems like the slide going back caused a round to be expelled from the magazine which is odd. I guess I'd have to see the malfunction to understand it.Because the observation that racking the slide DID cause one to eject would be easily explained in just that way. He initially described CLOSING the slide, inserting a mag, then operating the slide to chamber a round. Most people would do what you describe (starting with the slide locked back, inserting a mag, then going into battery). Read through his posts. He sticks with that method for some reason, but is confident that he's not doing anything unusual. He said he had the slide locked back, loaded a mag, and then slingshoted the slide closed. Derp, you're right, I read it wrong. Yeah I don't know. Could the mag be so full that the top round is getting pulled off when racking? I know when some of my mags are at max capacity it's almost impossible to get the mag release to catch when trying to insert the mag, which is why when my mag is full I lock the slide back then insert the mag with no pressure and slingshot. He initially described CLOSING the slide, inserting a mag, then operating the slide to chamber a round. My Sig 226 has done exactly as OP states. Rack slide and rounds start popping out of magazine instantly. You let go of slide and typically won't close, couple rounds lodged in there. One time like four rounds flew out, slide closed and chambered a round.Sounds like the mag may be bad. It don't take much for them to malfunction.
This was my suspicion.Could the problem be with the mag? Out of spec feed lips maybe?
Does this same thing happen with multiple mags? I like to number my mags in case these things happen to give reference to which mags don't want to play nice.My Sig 226 has done exactly as OP states.
