    If you want to shoot varmint bullets, thin jacket to insure expansion on thin skinned small game, then either get a slower twist barrel or load them to a lower velocity. The 1 in 7 twist is needed to stabilize longer bullets like the 77 grain ones. Google "Greenhill Formula" for an explanation of twist rates vs bullet length.

    --Third, some projectiles have relatively fragile jackets (notably varmint bullets). Spinning these projectiles too fast can cause the jackets to rupture in flight.
