Maybe, maybe not. Didn't have a negative outcome at this gathering. Also, if the politicians and other dipwads don't want to see rifles, let them carry handguns.

Exactly. In several states recently they finally went shall issue after a concerted campaign and several lawsuits by open carry groups forced the issue.

Great job by the deputy..

I was driving around rural VA this summer with a loaded AR at the bottom of the passenger seat. I stopped at a small grocery store (which sells guns). When I came back out, there was an Augusta County sheriff's deputy walking right by the car. For a moment there, I freaked out thinking I was still in MD. He just took one look at the AR and kept walking.

My wife asked where we should go on vacation this year... I said, America, I hear it's nice. Not too far off (may take a trip to Alaska).
