Walther PPQ First Edition value??

Can anyone speculate on why the Walther PPQ First Edition has gone through the roof on price?

Before the first of year, 700-850, the only 2 listed on GB since 1200+ and
over $1600 ! Are they already collectable? Any Ideas?

They are hard to come by right now due to Walther trying to get away from s&w being their importer. Until Walther sets up shop here, supply has been low, this started way before the election. Finding any Walther can get expensive, check out the ppk/s, P99 are getting top dollar and PPS can fetch a few extra bucks, but the PPQ is out of the park for sure!!!!!

The ppq first edition has night sights, threaded barrel and extended mag. They are no longer made, there was only a limited run. The gen2 walther a will have a button mag release, but the gen1 with the paddle release will still be made and offered.
