This Walther P38 9MM Pistol is a superbly built German pistol chambered for 9mm rounds. It's the first double-action military-use pistol. These surplus pistols were built after WW-2 & are eligible to ship directly to C&R FFL holders. These pistols are collectible military surplus pistols that were lightly used and were stored away & now offered to collectors!

They're all aluminum alloy frames post-war, with a few exceptions.
That one shown is interesting, a relatively low 6 digit 100k S/N so probably early 1960's with an "E" added later as a suffix.
The factory "E" suffix guns were for export (either mil contracts or commercial sales) and had a "0" prefix + 5 digit + E S/N's.
Again with a few exceptions the P38 was commercial and P1 was military and police from 1962 on when the P1 designation was adopted. But slides got mixed up all the time. The hex pin was introduced in 1975 to address frame wear issues from the locking block (NOT to strengthen the frame).
