I'm sure it has something with employees selling it to their friends for resale.

BTW "tricky" and Walmart aren't often used in the same sentence... They don't exactly hire the brightest and best...

WM uses these on items they specifically are having issues with theft on. Resellers are not WM problem for 1 very simple reason...

    WM already made the sale.

They could care less what happens to it after the monetary transaction.

I remember that Wal-Mart did this back when the great gun rush of '08 happened (the first time Obummer was elected). I remember seeing hundreds of ammo boxes, with this sticker, for sale at the Chantilly gun show.

If it has to do with theft, why put them on products that are locked up behind the glass?

All the shops with ranges have to do is save boxes. Some I know already do for when they buy bulk loose rds.

So the gun range that sells me the overpriced Winchester white box just loads it up again with bulk loose rounds?

    I'm sure there's a legality issue in there somewhere.:innocent0

Internal theft. WM employee hides boxes until friend comes in. Standard transaction occurs. Friend resells and employee split profit. Mattress police will put him to sleep.
