    Look inside the receiver. Did they pean the threads or anything? I have a czechpoint - it simply unscrews (I actually need to put a dab of loctite on it as it unscrews TOO easily.)

    If you can securely support the receiver, you might try a handheld hammer-on type impact driver such as motor cycle and small engine mechanics often use. If you find you really have to wail on it, try putting a properly cut block of wood or something inside the disassembled receiver to keep from distorting it by hammering. hopefully it won't require that kind of force. If your socket set driver doesn't match the size of that large screw, try an auto parts store and ask for an old-style truck "drag-link" socket like this one

    You can grind it if necessary to an exact fit.
