Was looking at 17WSM rifles. Knew about the BMAG but I discovered two others I hadn't heard of before. One being the Winchester 1885 single shot and the one that really peaked my interest is this Volquartsen semi-auto 17wsm.

Now I've heard stories of the semi-auto 17hmr's having serious issues like out of battery discharge. I'm curious to see how this pans out. It looks like they took the 10/22 design and chambered it in 17wsm. It also has a hell of a price tag for a semi-auto rimfire...

    That'd be nice. I'd love a semiauto like a 10/22 but i can't even find 17 WSM ammo lol.

When I bought my 17hmr at walmart 10-11 years ago my buddy bought a semi auto mossberg 17hmr.(these were the last 2 rifles the eldersburg walmart ever sold, manager begged us to buy them so they had no more).:sad20: His had a habit of going into 2 round burst every 10-15 rounds. Kinda cool and kinda of scary.

If you can afford it the Volquartsen is top notch,I have one in 22LR and it is a tack driver, 10 shot group at 100 yards.

Oh I'm sure they are, HOWEVER the biggest issue is being able to find a reliable, well feeding 17hmr/wmr that's semi-auto. 22lr doesn't seem to be an issue, but every semi-auto 17hmr i've read about has issues. I can only imagine what a 17wmr would be like.

Beyond my means. If I was spending that kind of money I would want to make sure I was buying a caliber that will survive.

I think 17WSM will but feel much better betting $300 in a Savage bolt gun than $2000 in that!
