Anyone a vintage ammo collector or know of someone that is?

I have some boxed ammo, mostly 22lr and 38 special that I believe is from the 40's and 50's and would like to see if it has any value or if I can shoot it.

Here is a picture of some of what I have.
    Thanks

There is a market for it. Don't shoot it until you'll price it all up.

    I recently bought some .25 Steven's ammo. A mere $90 for 50 rounds....

Seems to me there was a recent thread about a guy getting his firearms back, but the judge deemed his ammo too old and dangerous and it had to be destroyed. :sad20:

I'd lock up the stuff you have there before it goes out on its own looking for innocent children to harm!
    ;)

It has value and is likely shootable. Do some research.

I have some old ammo with the price stickers still on it. A box of 25 Winchester silver tip .30-06 was something like $5 or $6.

There are usually 3 different vintage ammo guys setup at the Nations Show in Chantilly (last weekends show).

The Baltimore Antique Arms Show in March will have dozens of vintage ammo dealers there. Nice boxes for vintage boxes are often worth as much as the ammo itself. The guy I deal with is Ray Giles (http://www.rtgammo.com/). If you send him an email of what you have, he will probably make you an offer. I've dealt with him for hears and he is a straight shooter.

    +1

He also parachuted in to Normandy on D-day.

    Good luck

    Jerry
