    https://www.youtube.com/c/VirginiaCitizensDefenseLeague

    4. R.I.P. Member Herbie Blackwood

VCDL EM Al Steed Jr. sent me this from SW Virginia:

I am sad to announce that VCDL member and supporter Herbie Blackwood passed away in late December. May he rest in peace. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

    5. Norfolk PD and ATF address local impacts of straw purchases

Straw purchases are almost impossible to stop and they are certainly not affected by universal background checks. Raising the penalties won’t help, as those doing straw purchases may not realize it is a crime or know what the current penalty is. It will lock straw purchasers up for a longer time, but it won’t deter them.

    6. As gun sales soared, violent crime plummeted

An article by John Lott Jr.

    7. Two reminders on keeping guns pointed in a safe direction while handling

The most important rule in gun handling is to keep the gun pointed in a safe direction, which is a direction where people or animals would not be shot and property damage would be minimal if the gun were to fire unexpectedly.

In the first video, a man is at a shooting range, but not on the range. He is doing something to his gun – either loading or unloading it. He has his left hand in front of the muzzle of the pistol and the muzzle is also pointing at a woman standing next to him:

    -

The second is a story about an Italian world junior champion skeet shooter who fatally shot himself in the abdomen while bending over to pick up some shotgun shells. I’m not really sure how he did that with a shotgun. I wish there was a video to show how that accident happened.

    8. A reminder not to let fake groups suppress your will to vote

Dirty tricks in politics are a dime a dozen. Don’t fall for this kind of scam to suppress your vote:

    9. Sign Delegate Marie March’s petition to repeal the Red Flag law in Virginia

    10. The Atlantic attempts to tie gun sales to rising homicides and fails

    11. Analysis of a self-defense shooting video

Wow – all kinds of lessons to learn from this video taken in South America, both good and bad.

    https://concealednation.org/2021/11...oting-was-a-little-terrible-at-the-same-time/

    12. Video of Richmond criminals trying to break into a vehicle’s gun safe

Gun safes secured to your vehicle can help prevent theft, as one of our members shows in a video of one attempted theft that happened in downtown Richmond a couple of years ago. The miscreants certainly tried hard enough to get into that safe:

    13. Article on one aspect of how gun control negatively affects the poor

I love how quickly those who claim to be supportive of the poor and of minorities move to strip them of their right to self-defense. Gun control is about controlling minorities, not protecting them!

    Hypocrites.
