There always seems to be a thread about squirrels, groundhogs and other assorted varmints around this time of year. I have not found it, so I am starting one.
Who is your nemesis this year, what have they done, and how are you taking care of it!
For me, once again, it is battle with the squirrels. They have been brutalizing the bird feeders, and yesterday they got into my back porch where they found some packets of corn I had intended on planting. they made quite a mess. So far I have eliminated seven of them bastiges. For the ones taken at the bird feeder, 50 yards from my bench rest position on the 2nd floor, I use my RWS 34 .22cal pellet rifle with the polymer tipped pellets. For the ones taken from the 2nd floor dormer near the back porch (5-15 yards) I use my Remmington 12C with super colibri ammo. This is quieter than the RWS, but lacks any kind of accuracy beyond 20 yards.
The squirrels continue their onslaught, sometimes even stepping over their fallen comrades. There seems to be no shortage of them.
