The portion of the electorate who comprise the non-urban, non-Leftist political center and right in states like MD and VA must find a way to impress upon the urbanites the need to start passing laws that only pertain to the urban centers that want them, not the rest of the people who don't. It's nothing more than a raw power and control play to impose upon everyone, laws that affect people who don't want or need them.

Maryland's General Assembly has recognized and passed laws in many areas acknowledging counties' autonomy to decide for themselves things such as landlord/tenant relations, consumer affairs, and liquor control. Why not firearms?

One of the reasons for preemption i(statue 4-209)s to prevent a tangled set of laws pertaining to firearms.

    I live in Mo Co.

I'm fine with state preemption for firearms.

For the same reasons we are, that the urban population centers control the majority of the geography of the state.

Take out NoVA, Tidewater and Richmond and Virginia is solid.

Nationally that will contribute to our downfall. Urban areas are still growing, and rural shrinking.

Can't wait for all those people that told me Virginia would never turn into an arm of DC to apologize.

Don't be too hard on them. The Clintonistas and Dems devoted immense resources to the task, assigning a team including Clinton's personal consigliere and money man, Terry McAuliffe, the task of fundamentally transforming Virginia.

The shifting demographics of the state made it inevitable and long term. The dumping of money didn't hurt. The state has transformed dramatically since 2000.

I am going to be one of the few who will Resist the Communists moving in from DC. I'm in the heart of enemy territory, in Fairfax County, but I'm not moving. I'm going to stay and fight.

Looks like those 200,000 felons that had their voting rights restored are making a difference.

Democrat name written on a piece of paper. Piece of paper went into a film canister.

Republican name written on a piece of paper. Piece of paper went into a film canister.

Both identical film canisters went into a bowl. Both canisters were tossed about. The first canister drawn from the bowl would contain the winner of the tied race.

    And the winner is.........

    Republican.

Delegate Yancey won the drawing this morning to see who would represent Virginia's 94th House district and we congratulate him! If Delegate Yancey had turned in a VCDL candidate survey in 2017, it is quite possible that we wouldn't have needed a drawing this morning to break a tie.

The Republicans now have a 51 to 49 majority in the House of Delegates and will choose the Speaker, most likely Delegate Kirk Cox.

Gun owners are far from being out of the woods for the next two years, but with the unfortunate anti-rights bent of the Democrat leadership, this is good news.

Anti-gun bills are pouring in to infringe on our right in just about any way imaginable when the General Assembly convenes on January 10. I will have an update on those bills soon. Lobby Day is January 15. We still have room on the buses from Fairfax, Fredericksburg, Roanoke, and Lynchburg.
