Tonight we where at va beach captain George Buffet. The food and service where great, but the customers where awful and racist.

I literally had a guy in a Black Lives Matter shirt walking past me and say move over white, quite a few people with black power shirts and other racial sayings. Any very rude to us, the table beside us stretches their lags out so much that my wife couldn’t get by and wouldn’t move. Never seen anything so bad.

Hmm, been a couple of times and noticed that it was a big mix racially but never experienced anything like that, maybe the night, a specific event let out and a bunch of groups came over or something? : /

My friend who lives in VB told me that Captain Georges is like the #9 consumer of snow crab legs GLOBALLY....like competing against countries and wholesalers etc...crazy

I was just down there fishing offshore last weekend. I couldn’t get out of VB fast enough. I have always hated the area and it’s only gotten worse.

I generally don’t care about who is in a place with me but this was definitely not a good crowd.

It is one of the best. We eat at the one in n.c. A lot and never an issues. We didn’t have an issue with te one in va beach, it was theirs clients that where bad, the restaurant has no control over who comes in or how their customers act.

I used to take my mother and Gradndfather there when they would come to visit me when I was stationed in VA Beach.

Last time I was in VA Beach had to have been over 10 years ago and it was NOT the same as it was when I was there.

I worry this is going to be a growing trend of racism against whites. Most people are stupid to do whatever the mainstream and online media tells them to do without thinking for themselves. If they are taught in schools that racism is bad except for whites then people will start to adopt that attitude.

I'm not sure there was much you could have done in that situation. Had you said something to the manager, and even if the manager got involved, the racist customers would have just gotten worse. Best thing to do I guess is video and post on social media. Maybe someone will recognize them and karma will get them some day.

A young black lady at work a few years ago accuse me of being racist because I didn't work with her. I didn't have any projects with her and the couple times I said anything to her were cordial and professional. Her manager told me afterwards that during her exit interview they asked her about how was working with various people. All the people she worked with were great except me and another guy (also white) because we were racist. They asked her what do you mean and she responded she didn't have any projects with us and so she didn't know if we were nice and therefore racist.

ABout a week after Bathhouse Barry Soetero Obeyme was installed in the WH in 2009, my teenage daughter was pushed aside in a checkout line by a 300# black woman saying “move over bitch, it’s OUR turn now that Obama’s President.”

    Local GIANT grocers.

Not apocryphal. She came home crying. She also noticed a sudden uptick in hallway fights in middle school, was shoved aside several times by black kids who were suddenly imported from the border of AA county into a formerly predominantly white populated COMMUNITY school system, and the school got not one, but TWO SRO’s (armed cops to give the beatdown to the unruly savages).

A year later she was in a relatively safe(r) high school known for arts/sciences and far fewer urban American (how NPR labels black Americans sometimes) thuggees just doing their time until they could become convicts.

Sh!tty people exist everywhere. White racists exist, why would anyone think black racists don't also exist? There is definitely a cultural shift to "center the margins" that normalizes black bigotry against whites while gaslighting everyone to thinking all whites are racist in everything we do though.

I get accused of being a racist all the time at school by kids and parents if I give a bad grade or discipline to a black kid. It doesn't matter what they were actually doing to earn that grade/discipline, it must be my racism.

People everywhere of all types need to just not tolerate it when it happens, while pushing the classic enlightenment rationality of treating all individuals as individuals.

I have seen time and time again that black people can not be racist since they are so oppressed.

I personally only see a person race as a description and nothing else. I treat everyone how I want to be treated. Unfortunately that isn’t happening with other groups.

I just moved over and let him pass. I did not have my sidearm with me but I did have a defensive pen In my pants cargo pocket. as he walked past me I did have my hand on the pen ready to strike with it if needed. I am close to 53 years old and he was maybe in late 20-eary30s. I let it go there as I was out numbered 30-1 and with all the racist shirts people had on I knew I wouldn’t stand a chance if I said something to him or the ‘young lady ” that was deliberately blocking my wife from getting out of her chair.

Film director Spike Lee said black people cannot be racist as only those in charge with the power can be. I guess if that's true then it's prima facie evidence that Barack Obama and Eric Holder are racists...which is true regardless of Spike Lee's stupid statement.

IIRC Holder took that and ran with it in regards to hate crimes not applying to whites as victims only as perpetrators.

Edit: Sorry OP for your experience.

....I'm not sure there was much you could have done in that situation...

I'd have gotten up and left..screw what I'd already paid.

There is nothing you could have done about their behavior without creating a bigger problem and that's not a hill to die on but I'll be damned if I'll sit there and take it.

I've done it more than once - it pisses the wife off but I refuse to put up with it.

FWIW, a group of about a dozen of us stayed at the Ramada Inn in VB this past weekend for a fishing trip. The indifference and over-the-top rudeness of the staff was nearly unbelievable.

For the most part, I successfully avoided it for 25+ years while in the Navy and if it weren't for the fishing, I'd never go near the entire Norfolk, Portsmouth, Hampton Roads and Virginia Beach area.

We where already in the dinner for over $125.00 we do not have that kind of money to walk out on. just remember they didn’t want us there, if we left they would have gotten just what they wanted. us not feeding into them and staying and finishing our meal just pissed them off even more. If they got physical that would be different.

last summer we tried a new local crab house. We did not know or care it was a black owned restaurant. We went in and where the only white people in the place. We sat down placed our order ate and left. Our service was very slow compared to everyone else, our food was over cooked and cold, everyone else food we saw looked perfect. People where looking at us and whispering, nothing rude was said to us. Just treated differently then rest of the customer.

All we expected was to be treated as paying customers nothing more nothing less.

incidents like this seem to be happening more often and getting worse.
