Where did you get your parts kit? I would like to pick up an STG58 parts kit for a build. DSA is selling an STG58 kit with a US barrel and matching serials in good to excellent condition for $495, but I don't know if that is a good deal or not.

Gibby- is that sawdust on the floor from building (I see screwgun, level, etc) or just media-like I have all over mine (with some bullets scattered around as well....)

Try SARCO. Remember just like the AK build you need to have a set number of US parts. No reason not to buy a Kit without a barrel

From what I've seen about turnaround times on receivers and overall lack of parts kits if you start shopping now you'll be ready for a build next xmas....:D

At the rate I am going, you're right, Drmsparks. :) I spoke with DSA a little over a week ago and if I'm lucky, I might have my receiver in my hands before the end of 2007. Parts kits I've been sitting on for a year. I just need a few compliance parts but those aren't as difficult to get.

I just ordered an inch kit (the L1a1 special) and am debating an imbel.

The L1a1 receivers won't be made before March based on what I was told....

I'm in the process of ordering the receiver tomorrow- just got the FFL lined up, going to Gideon, now all I have to do is phone it in...
