-Last month I was surfing Gun Broker and ran across a listing for a very nice Ross M10 Sporter rifle in .280 Ross. Much nicer condition than the sole example in my collection. This one even had the factory optional Porter Pop-up sight. Condition excellent and it had a $450 starting price, about half of what the rifle is worth. So I threw in a cheap bid 2/3 of market. Didn't want to spend any more as I was going after some Enfields from John Sukey's estate.
-Got a shock when the absolute auction closed and I had gotten it for just over $500. It arrived today and really is a beautiful example of a 105 yr old rifle. If Sir Charles Ross didn't build the best military rifle he certainly knew how to craft a commercial sporting rifle!
