-This is what I mentioned in an earlier thread about a commercial Unique 17 purchased by the French government in the early days of WW2. As hard as it is to find pre-German occupation built Unique 17s this puppy is probably the hardest to track down.
-This example was built on a French government contract. The rivet used on Ruby pistols to prevent sweeping the safety off when retracting from a holster is present. The previous 3 line slide text is replaced with a single line that stayed through German occupation. This example has grips marked "RF" or Republique Francaise instead of the Lion logo commercial grips.
-Found this in a Florida auction bundled with a repop German holster. So for now it's living in a German holster from the leather pile. Will see if I can't find just the right Ruby holster for it. I also need to track down a couple of grip screws to replace the post war hex head replacements. Believe that a typical Ruby screw should work. Will try a pair of those first.
