    I just received the below email from the MDVA. Unfortunately, I can't make it to this, but hopefully, someone can.

    Unaccompanied Burials Scheduled at Crownsville Veterans Cemetery​



    The Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs Cemetery Program will be hosting a dignified burial ceremony to honor and pay respects to five unaccompanied veterans.
    The ceremony will take place Friday, July 29, 2022 at 11:00 am.​
    Location: Crownsville Veterans Cemetery
    1122 Sunrise Beach Road
    Crownsville, MD 21032​

    Veterans receiving Final Honors:

    Mark V Kissal/Army/CPL/5-10-51 - 5-9-53
    James H Hansen/Air Force/A1C/10-3-63 - 7-6-67

    All are welcome to attend. Event will include an Honor Guard and the playing of Taps. The event will be standing room only with limited parking.

    I thought the VA Cemetery's, in MD were contacting the MD Patriot Guard?!?!?!?!?!?

    VA in PA has been in contact with the PA PGR for a long time. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery has 5 unaccompanied SM on 1 AUG & 1 on the 2nd.

    I hope so, but I really have no idea. This is the first email like this that I have seen from the MDVA. It’s a shame. Hopefully someone is there to see them off.

    WOW! The third guy down os a WWI vet if I am reading correctly. 1917-1919. I don't see how that's even possible. Even if he was 16 when he joined that would be 123 years old and I think THAT would make t h e news

    Yea VA sent this to me as well. It’s sad to see these guys get their last salute alone, if I could make it I would.

    My ball and chain and i are planning. Last time the cemetery was so over whelmed we could not even get in.

    The line to pay personal respects went across the drive and turned the corner. People could have just left when the ceremony ended ... they didn't.
