What type of flies are you guys buying or using for your fly fishing outings? I usually use small black and brown flies, or I use pink worm flies, But is there a certain color combinations on a fly that works well in our neck of the woods?

Also, I was watching the fishing network today, and the outfitters where using flies with two hooks on them instead of one. Does anybody else use these double hook flies?

It depends on time of year, where I'm fishing, what I'm fishing for. I used to use size 20 grey CDC caddis flies on BHC for trout there, or size 18 Copper Johns if they weren't hitting on top. If the Sulphurs were hatching, I'd use yellow dries or pheasant tail nymphs.

Pickup a copy of the Mid Atlantic Fly Fishing Guide. Most fly shops have them for free. They come out monthly and have hatch charts for most of the rivers and streams in the mid atlantic region. BTW, hard to bead a bead head gold ribbed hares ear for a general searching pattern.
