I generally like what Trump has done in his presidency, but I'm not down with this at all (add to that his support for the Red Flag crap-ola). I especially hate how he made up his mind that these contraptions were "machine guns" and then forced ATF to go against their already established judgement and say "just kidding... these are bad".

I predict a pretty rapid reversal on arm braces too. Soon to be defined as SBRs. I hope it doesn't happen, but I fear it might. Mags over 10 rounds could be classified as DD under the same lack of logic. The door is unfortunately wide open now.

I hope that the judges that Trump nominates have more fidelity to the Constitution than he does.

I feel the same and now I see 2020 as another choice between a shit sandwich and turd in the punch bowl. It'll either be Trump or another gutless Repub running against incarnate evil. Ugh. Almost ready for the revolution...

They are all targets for antigunners and yes there are laws and regulations that can be twisted to apply to each one I listed.

I'm sure you think you could win this argument with me. I'll just allow you to remain content in your ignorant bliss.

I saw him say it. "I like taking the guns first". FWIW

Trump: 'Take the guns first, go through due process second'

President Trump suggests taking guns from some people before actually going to court.

    https://thehill.com/homenews/admini...-the-guns-first-go-through-due-process-second

President Trump on Wednesday voiced support for confiscating guns from certain individuals deemed to be dangerous, even if it violates due process rights.

“I like taking the guns early, like in this crazy man’s case that just took place in Florida ... to go to court would have taken a long time,” Trump said at a meeting with lawmakers on school safety and gun violence.
“Take the guns first, go through due process second,” Trump said.
Trump was responding to comments from Vice President Pence that families and local law enforcement should have more tools to report potentially dangerous individuals with weapons.

Give the bastards and inch and they will take a mile. For as long as I can recall we have given in to their talking points of "common sense" gun control in the hope that once they have what they deem to be common sense they will go away.

Not. One. More. God. Damned. Inch.

You suggest that it is only a little infringement relatively speaking so we should just deal with it because the times are changing? Fvck that.

I suggest no such thing! I will factually state there are FAR worse things coming down the road. This is NOTHING. The Red Flag law is WAY worse than a bump stock ban. A ban on all semi autos would be WAY worse. If we can't reshape people's opinion we will lose. The new generation has been indoctrinated by in large. Without a MASSIVE effort to elect and educate, the 2a is not long for this land in any meaningful form.

We have allowed the left to literally STEAL elections with no recourse. We have given our rights way, they weren't taken. We have not done enough to preserve our liberty. We let the liberals brainwash our children, elect Muslims to office, enact socialist agendas. We are in big trouble, a lot more than a mere ban on a simple accessory.

Are you going to cry about it maybe throw a little tantrum? Does not matter in the end. The only thing that matters is taking back our country.

Then why shrug and say, "meh? so what?"

That is not my intention. It does burn me up, but I think it is a bad strategy to go all in on this and burn our limited resources to fight it to the death with expensive campaigns when there are MUCH worse things coming down the road that will demand those resources. This one is hard to get the average Joe Public behind, where other more drastic things coming that will be far easier to garner more public support for.

If this is "taking back our country" we're doing it wrong.
