I need to make a trip down to 300 Indiana Ave to add a pistol to my carry permit. Gawd, I hate making that trip into DC, but it's the only way.
Anybody else need to go who might want to make it a group effort/event?
I thought it was relatively painless. Here's a link: DC Permit
Have you completed training in District of Columbia laws on firearms and self-defense? (There is no exemption from this requirement.)
sooo does my MD Wear and carry (CCW) permit training w/in the last 12 months count?? or better yet.. i have my MDCCW, can i just send in paperwork and register for the dc one?? it kinda looks that way.
nevermind: i found out why this doesn't "just work"

You do not need to go in person. Mailing the form and a check works...I need to make a trip down to 300 Indiana Ave to add a pistol to my carry permit. Gawd, I hate making that trip into DC, but it's the only way.

No.
DC will accept your MD 16 hour training if performed within the last 24 months. You will have to take the DC two hour law portion from an approved DC instructor and their 50 shot course of fire. This will run you ~$200.
blah.. i'll avoid DC for now. thanks for the info though!

Please check in when you get home so we know you’re safe.
I'd rather venture to 300 Indiana Ave rather than BPD HQ any day. And twice on Sundays.

Historically , DC has had higher crime, and homicide rates than Baltimore , the flip flop has been comparatively recent . To this day , there are are areas of DC that rival any in Baltimore .
That said , the vicinity of MPD HQ, particularly in daytime, isn't bad by standards of any urban area .
I was told by MPDC to mail the form to the Registration Section along with a check for 13 Bucks, made out to the DC Treasurer.I sure hope you're right, but have searched their website and all I can find is the requirement to do it in person. Do you have a link, maybe, that explains the procedure for doing it by mail? Thanks in advance if you do.
