If this has been reviewed in prior post(s), sorry I did a search and could not find an answer.

I want to give my father a handgun that I purchased legally in Md.

Do I have to go through a Pa FFL? If yes can I take it to the Pa FFL or should I have a Md FFL ship it up there? (I have a Md and Pa CCP)

Yes, this has been answered many times, no issue if you can't find it.

Yes, under Federal law, the transfer has to go through an FFL in PA. It also has to be legal to won in both MD and PA (which shouldn't be an issue)

Check with the FFL in PA and see if they will let you bring it to them and do the transfer, it is their choice wether they will accept a firearm from an individual or not.

    * Most * ( Local gun store , not big box chain ) will accept from an individual , live in person at their location .

The guidance still stands, Check with the FFL in PA and see if they will let you bring it to them and do the transfer, it is their choice wether they will accept a firearm from an individual or not, NEVER assume they will.

    True !

But when you do ask , it will usually be ok in person , and 50/ 50 to ship .
