    I vote BCM.

I have beat and shot the crap out of my s&w M&P though and its a great rifle. So another vote goes to the s&w m&p

Almost got one of them about five years ago but instead I got a t/c encore in 50 cal. I wish I would have gotten the s&w now but it was muzzler loader season and my knight in-lines firing pin and spring needed to be replaced cause it was not firing off every time

For what it's worth, it's not hard and is very rewarding to build your own gun. I can't say much for cost savings, but you can build a gun for the same ballpark price as buying a nice complete gun. Not only do you learn the platform inside and out by building it yourself, but you also get to pick and choose the parts that you want on your gun, and not what a manufacturer is choosing to give to you. My father bought his first AR, and I built my first one, never even thought twice about buying complete.
