    Nice spear! I thought about deer hunting with one years ago but wasn't too sure how it would qualify under the primitive weapons rules. fun to play with in the back yard though.

    Ditto on the Phalanx. As a former ancient weapon battlegame participant that would be a decent short sword when paired with a medium size shield. While I have a fully sharpened Viking hand and a half sword (a bastard sword type) plus my favorite melee weapon, the Danish or bearded battle axe, my hand weapon of choice for zombies would be my 100 layer folded steel katana, which I know how to use properly.

    I would rely on anything made by Zombie Tools...........love my "Tooth" knife. No longer made. They do rotate new designs quite frequently, so you have to grab them quick.....

    I used to be a jouster at the MD Renaissance Festival years ago (when jousters wore real armor and actually jousted). We used to do a lot of ground combat demonstrations and for my money, I definately thin a medieval war axe is your best bet.
