Better pic of my BCM 14.5”.

Edit: The pic still comes out low quality for some reason

Colt pistol build with all Colt parts (except grip and brace). This was a fun project, especially finding the 11.5 HRT Colt barrel and the Virgin M4 lower. Have not shot this beaut, but should be fun.

Thanks, the virgin Lowers aren’t cheap and they are hard to find. When you do find them they’re between $700 and $800. I am lucky I bought a couple when Brownells offered them. IM me if you have questions :D

    300 Blackout Pistol Build

It seems to be coming together. I still need to add Timney drop in AR trigger, the backup front sight, Squirrel Daddy laser engraved 300BO dust cover and some OD green Duracoat. Test fired yesterday with some blamo 203gr Palmetto subsonic reloads and it cycled all rounds and the bolt locked back! I am looking forward to final zero of the Eotech 552 and Steiner DBAL-A3 with subs! Hope everyone is well during this odd pandemic..... Be well, be safe, God bless.

    Parts List:
    SB Tac Pistol Brace
    Mil Spec buffer & spring
    Mil Spec forged upper receiver
Mil Spec LPK with Ergo Grip (Timney drop in trigger later)
    BCM Ambi Charging Handle
    Nickel Boron BCG
    Troy Industry Alpha Rail
BA Hanson 10.3” 300 BO Heavy Barrel
VLTOR gas block with pistol gas tube
    SilencerCo ASR flash hider
    Eotech 552
    Steiner DBAL-A3 dual green/IR laser & illuminator

Love that build. If I were to build another AR this is that it would be.

    Two AR builds

    Hi all,

Here are two of my more interesting builds. Top started life as a Ruger AR556 but there’s isn’t much left of as you might be able to tell. Mostly Geissele parts now!

Bottom is a USMC SAM-R inspired build, but it’s chambered in 6.5 Grendel. I say inspired because I definitely made some substitutions on a few parts (gas block, barrel finish, trigger, etc.). Kinda cheaped out on the optic, but will probably pick up the proper Leupold for it at some point. Has the proper PRI charging handle, scope rings, stock, KAC handguard, M16A4 marked lower, Harris bipod with KAC stud and pod-loc, etc. Let me know if you have any questions! (I can add build lists if you all would like.)

    Thanks,
    Jake

Looks very cool. Kinda wild seeming the full size lower/mag with such a short barrel! How do you like the splitfix strap?

How'd you deal with the HBAR requirement for your AR556/Geissele?

It was an HBAR model from the factory. I believe it was a Model Number 8511. Barrel is 1:8 twist and cold hammer-forged, so pretty decent for an entry level AR. She’s a little heavy because of that, but still handy enough. May switch it out for a barrel with a mid-length gas system at some point.

The Ruger AR556 Model 8511 is a MD compliant model, HBAR and ships with 10 round mags. That and the Del-Ton 316H (Model RFTH16-1 with HBAR and 10 rd mags) are our 2 best sellers for MD.

My two primary-use carbines. They're both really good rifles, but they have very different use cases.

Top one is a multi-gun build with Criterion 18" lightweight barrel, lightened BCG, AGB, A5H0 buffer, Hipertouch Eclipse trigger, VG6 Gamma, Aero handguard (enhanced upper), etc. Optic is a Vortex Razor Gen3 in an Aero mount with Magpul Pro offsets. This carbine is designed to go fast and far with precision, but is obviously tuned to a particular ammo type, and is probably not going to be great if it gets down and dirty for an extended period of time. (This was built on a pre-ban lower.)

Bottom one is a class carbine / SHTF / HD build (SBR) with DD M4V7S upper (11.5"), Gemtech adjustable BCG, A5H2 buffer, Geiselle SSA-E trigger, ASR FH, and currently wearing a SiCo Hybrid. Optic is a Sig Romeo6T / Juliet4 combo with Magpul MBUS. This carbine is designed to suppress well and be fast and reliable, as well as work well in oddball shooting positions and in CQB, but doesn't stretch as far as the top rifle. On the plus side, it's also not ammo sensitive.

That is exactly what I want to build except I have a KAK magwell block to run Uzi mags. Any chance you can take some pics of the barrel and rail clearance without the can?

Wrapped this up a few weeks ago...

-Dirty Bird burnt bronze handguard 13inch
    -Aero standard lower (burnt bronze)
    -Aero standard upper (burnt bronze)
    -Aero Charging handle
    -Aero gas block
    -Aero carbine stainless gas tube
    -Magpul MOE Stock
-Barrel: Hardened Arms HBAR stamped 16" 5.56 4150 CMV
-SOLGW lower parts kit and Liberty Fighting trigger
-SOLGW buffer tube, backplate and castle nut
-SOLGW ejection port door and forward assist
    -Tubb buffer spring (stainless steel)
    -Colt H buffer
-Phosphate Aero BCG with SOTAR reliability service

While the handguard looks really nice, I've got some reservations about the aluminum barrel nut. If I can find a steel barrel nut that works I'll swap it out. The cerakote on the upper and lower look great. It does create a fit that is a little tight for parts and will have to lap the trigger pin hole. On a positive note, the upper and lower have a tight fit with no gaps.

    Tribute rifle to my brother...

Good evening all. It’s been a while since I’ve posted on here. I just got done building what will probably be my last AR. I’ve done plenty of them at this point and I’ve shared a lot of them on here over the years.

I built this as a tribute to my brother. He passed away suddenly in October of last year. He was a member on here as well, Mdoffroad. Some of you may have known him.

I just wanted to share. Building this was something I know he would have liked, and probably would have told me to save my damn money because I spent way to much on it. Lol.

The laser engraving and Cerakote work were done by Mike at Blowndeadline.com. His work is by far the best Cerakote work that I’ve had done, and I’ve worked with a lot of people that claim to know how to do it.
