waiting on my DiamondHead sights to come in, should be in next week....:party29:

Don't bother. The "cheap" magpul sights actually do better in drop tests than many higher priced folding sights out there.

Basically put, after a 3 foot drop, the magpuls had less POA/POI shift than the competition.

I gave away my DiamondHeads before I saw the test results, it was an eye-opener.

Did someone say Diamondhead-USA sights? There are a set on this one amongst all the other awesomeness!

while i do go by the buy one cry once motto, magpul sights are one hell of a deal...their light, inexpensive and just plan work, and are very tough. i dont see the point in dropping hundreds on backup sights when magpuls work just as well if not better

I realize this as well. I put the PTS sights on just to have them on as "back up" my T-1 does all the work. The batteries are a 5 year battery so they chance of the battery failing is probably less than the optic itself. This is also pretty much a fat chance. BUT, I am an attention whore so I will go with my high end DH sights in the end knowing the chance of this AR falling 3 feet is slim to nil. :innocent0

Care to guess how many times this AR was dropped from 3 feet or more?

3 times from 3 feet - fell off my shooting table, onto a concrete pad.

2 times from heights of over 6 ft., elevated shooting position to the ground in Va, it was clear and safe for that. If the sights were up for that, they'd have been almost useless.

Granted, the magpul sights would exhibit POA/POI shift as well, but to a lesser extent. Price point does not always mean the best performers.

    To each their own.

Another look at the CMT Tactical build featuring their billet lower and upper receiver. This rifle also has stainless steel Battle Arms Development ambidextrous selector levers that compliment the stainless steel barrel from NAP-TAC. The rail is a Fortis Manufacturing 14 inch REV. Fortis also makes the mount for the T-1, which is in an iOCover. Finally, I put a BattleComp 1.5 on just because I though it looked cool.

What's the barrel length on this build? Looks awesome!

Add some IR glowsticks around the feeder, and I have an IR illuminator if absolutely necessary. From what I saw tonight just looking through it unassisted, I don't think it'll be necessary. Should have a full-to-last-quarter moon, which oughta be plenty.

(stole the scope from my .308....because why not?)

Love the magpul sights. The pts line, which is Chinese imported airsoft junk was what I was referring to. No experience with the diamondheads but I've heard decent things

Oops. Wasnt paying attention to that detail, the MBUS are probably the best bang for buck, the PTS is POS... :o

Liked the DH sights when I had them, but wanted something that'll take a drop a bit better, so the MBUS got the nod.
