I should have said to this guy is the only FFL in Frederick that I know of who will submit a fired cartridge to MSP for handguns that are not supplied with one cause he is an 07 FFL.

Glade valley sporting goods will do the same.
Every one has there bad days as well. I contacted a ip that most of you speak super highly about and inquired about buying 10 shot guns and he told me that he couldn't help and to call some one else and hung up. I've bought two hand guns from gun center and they were not the cheapest but had what I wanted when I wanted it. So the little extra was worth it. But I have also been in the store before and the guys were not that pleasent.

Yeah, I would have told them where to stick that form. I think it is pretty much robbery. If the MSP "disapprove" you, why shouldn't you get your money back? Why should they get a windfall. Now, a restocking fee might be in order, but if they are charging anything to do the NICS, etc., then I wouldn't be alright with the restocking fee either. The shops that are taking advantage of the current situation might be the ones that find themselves without business once the current situation is over.

Trust me, a shop like that will NEVER get any business from me, EVER. Glad I read about it on here.

I know all the guys at the Gun Center. I dont know anything about this form, but msot all of them are great guys. They usually always have a great selection, and are helpful. I do not agree with certain things but that is neither here nor there. And as for " the fat guy with the baseball cap and beer gut is also a dick and very standoff'ish" he is a good friend of mine who just lost EVERYTHING he owns in a house fire in Frederick County. I mean he lost one of his dogs, his entire house, two cars, 4-wheelers, and his entire gun collection. So he may be less than pleasant lately.

Tell him I feel for his loss, but he should be thankful that no people died in the fire including himself. We all have issues in life. IN 2009, I had terrible Lyme Disease. My wife's father has fought cancer twice. My grandmother died. My wife's grandmother does not remember her anymore because of Alzheimers, my wife had 5 miscarriages in a year, and the list goes on and on. At no time was I taking my problems out on other people. Those other people were not the cause of my problem.

Try to make your friend understand that. Even though his luck has been bad, it will most likely change for the better. However, he surely wouldn't want to be treated like crap by everybody he comes into contact with just because they are having a bad week too. You don't get a second chance at first impressions.

Good luck to your friend. However, I will still avoid that shop since almost everybody on here other than "a good friend of one of the shop's employees" has something negative to say about the shop. Good thing is, I think I found a good place pretty close to me, so probably never would have shopped there anyway.

Actually Bob (Robert Lee Wolfes) at Gunrunners in downtown Frederick was able to do this for me for a Sig that I had transferred through their shop in December. He said that they routinely do it for some manufacturers that don't provide the fired shell, like Sig.

Odd policy, especially given that a dealer should work to facilitate the sale, not make things worse for a customer who may have been disapproved because of a blank check box or minor omission that the dealer likely should have caught in the first place.

Yes, dealers can set prices at will now and anything they get flys off the shelves, and safes are full of transfer guns, but things will change.

One has to think long term, treat customers fairly and remember that one day soon we will be fighting tooth and nail for your gun buying dollars as opposed to you guys having to scrap for guns in this silly market.

There will be less money and it may be very much harder to simply comply with the draconian new laws, so where are you going to spend your money?

I use a credit card for any purchases like that. If you get declined, you can dispute anything they charge on your account. Disputes are easy and painless with most credit card companies.

This must be a very recent policy. My wife and I purchased two firearms from there the beginning of last month and didn't have a problem at all. It seems as if you have BofA, the bank will cancel firearms purchases without you knowing, maybe they are doing this because of banks anti-gun policies. Who knows?

The fat baseball-cap guy has always been very off-putting. Yesterday when I was dealing with Kevin, as soon as I questioned "the new form", FBCG (fat baseball-cap guy) couldn't haven't come over quicker, anticipating (and probably hoping for) an argument.

I have purchased three handguns and one shotgun from The Gun Center. It's hard to resist because I'm an impulse buyer, their prices aren't that outrageous, they usually have what I'm looking for AND they are less than a mile from my house.

But now that I know the bad attitude wasn't just my imagination, I will take my business elsewhere.

The Gun Shack in Mt Airy has a nice selection, plus one of the women that work there is pretty cute.

I don't. I have BofA unfortunately and this has happened to me in another instance. I received a call about a purchase I had made, thinking they were calling me to check to see if it was fraud and that was not the case. The lady I spoke to was very quick to tell me that they were denying the purchase. A long argument ensued and later that day I closed my accounts and gladly moved to another bank.

I have BofA and have made several purchases at The Gun Center, The Gun Shack in Mt Airy and blue Ridge Arsenal out in Dulles VA, all of which went through just fine.

I've also found no mention of such a policy except by you and some questionable YouTube video. I suspect it's malarky.

Like I said this was another instance and was not at the Gun Center and not even in Maryland for that matter.

Also, if you check opencarry.org there is a thread on this particular topic as well.

I purchased a Glock 36 from The Gun Center in Frederick MD earlier today and was met with a new form that I had sign in order to purchase the weapon.

Basically the form says that if for any reason the Maryland State Police reject your application that you forfeit your money over to the store. I was wondering if anyone knows about the legality of this. The way the document was written, it sounds like it was written by a laymen and they probably did not consult a lawyer.

Here is a copy of the form: http://i.imgur.com/HhonEYW.jpg

    Any ideas?

First let me ask, WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU BUY A GUN THERE?????

They have to be the most OVER priced gun store in the entire state of Maryland. With little to no effort at all you can find a gun store that will sell you whatever your buying for MUCH less.

A few years ago I was shopping for this one Sig for my wife that had a MSRP on it of $1200. Most gun shops were selling it for $1000 - $1100. The shop where I bought it sold it to me for $995. When I called the Gun Center for pricing the said $1395. I said $1395? Are you sure we are talking about the same gun because the MSRP on it was only $1200?

The guy got pissed and turned VERY rude on the phone as he said He new what gun we were talking about. Just for laughs from time to time I call them just to see how much they are selling anything I'm looking for. They are always $75 - $150 over everyone's price on anything I ask them about. No extra charge for the rudeness.

And now they want people to sign a for that will make them pay for the processing no matter what? All I can say is not me brother. If your smart, not you either!
