I'm liking this idea more and more: Ammo as chips! You take what you win, feel free to buy back in with another case of 9mm.

    4.22lr = 1 9mm
    2 9mm = 1 .45 ACP / 1 .5.56
    3 .45 ACP = 1 .308
    6 .308 = 1 .50 BMG

Or... we have the Russian version:

    2x 5.45 or 2 7.62x25 = 1 7.62x39 or 1 9x18 Makarov or 1 7.62 x 54R
    30 7.62x39 = 1 DSHK round :-)

The ammo as currency sounds like a great idea, until someone shows up with a case of Barnul or Tula. I strongly suggest we keep it a little more simple.

Not unless you make it a certain ammo....

Lets say for example you can only use Wally White Box 9mm or something... if it's a gentlemans game only gentleman can attend.

I have two 10 person poker tables :innocent0

Your probably right, it'd be best to use chips, but not nearly as "awesome". I'd still play for a prize of ammo though.

Tourny style- cash + a box of any ammo to buy in. 1st gets $xxx + ammo,
    2nd gets $xx. Could work...

    Anybody working on a location?

I have never used my Texas Hold'em poker set that has the chips. I could mark one side of the chips with ammo references - 9mm, 45acp, 5.56, & 7.62x51

    How does that sound?

I will have to check with my local gun club and see what dates are avail for reserving the club house. As far as the tourny style and all that, I have no clue. Only played in Charlestown a few times.

I'll dig up this old thread. I have a place to play in Hanover Pa right near the square. Looking like every other wed 730-8pm, $20 (or higher if everyone agrees) buy in, sit n go, holdem. Send me a PM if interested. Not too far a drive for anyone in Carroll County.

I don't have an ammo can big enough for all your free ammo, but I'd still be willing to take it home in a couple trader joe's bags.
