Suppressor spits powder back when shooting?

I've got a Yankee Hill 9mm can I bought new.

I'm finding when I shoot the subsonic ammo, it shoots without spitting powder in my face, but there isn't enough juice to always make the ejection work.

When shooting normal ammo, I get a face of what I presume to be burnt powder. Not a lot, and nothing painful, just enough to notice (like sand hitting you in the face at the beach (from the wind, not your brother)..

I'm guessing it's the ammo. Until I google searched I thought it might be a dirty suppressor, but it seems to be ammo driven. Is there anything I can do to mitigate this besides find an ammo that seems to work best without the blowback?

Are you shooting it wet? What type of lube on the gun?

Is it with JUST this ammo or is it with other ammo?

What Platform? It matters because timing can effect how efficient a gun burns powder.

Use a heavier buffer to slow down the bolt. This will allow the powder to fully combust prior to the action unlocking ( Straight blowback). Since the suppressor increases the blowback action, a heavier buffer is needed to compensate for that extra push when firing suppressed loads.

Thanks for asking, sorry for the delay..

    Shooting it dry.
    Lube is CLP
It didn't happen with the subsonic, it didn't happen (IIRC) with federal hydrashock, but it does happen with most other ammo I can remember.
It's on a Glock 23 with 9mm barrel down convert.

Try wetting the can and see if it happens, but you may just replace powder with dirty water.

    Good Lube!

9mm Conversion could be the issue. The timing, or recoil springs may not like the setup
