Have nothing but good to say about Spyderco and Benchmade. Seems like the Spydercos hold an edge just a tad better, but I prefer the opening mechanisms on Benchmades.

How about the sub $20 price point? I've been ED carrying a kershaw OSO Sweet for about a year now. It's a good knife at a great price. SMG still has them for $17.99 and they frequently have free shipping or $10 off promotions.

    It's inexpensive, not cheap.

I'm on my second one, but it's not the knife's fault...

I was working on shooting shotgun slugs at 100 yds...cut out the old target with my Oso Sweet and stuck it in the top of the wooden post to free up my hands. Hung the new target and turned by back on the OSO and walked back to the firing line. Then, without knowing, I shot and nicked the knife with a wild shot. :sad20: Still works if I leave it locked open, so it lives on my work bench now.

Bikebreath, what a sad story. Somehow it reminds me of that old saying about bringing a knife to a gunfight.

I have 2 of the 3. The SOG is what my friend has and I like the way the clip is designed so it fits deep in your pocket and absolutely none of the knife shows. I think this would be an asset for business attire. Also have a Kershaw Chive, too damn small to hold well and another cheaper Kershaw that has a tiny useless clip. Good for around the house. My Leek is all SS, the ones I see now have plastic scales.

I'd also take a look at CRKT offerings around that price point.

Blur was my favorite @ $100, but its just not as easy to open with either hand in any condition.

My current EDC is CRKT hunter. It's closer to $30, a little bulky, but great.

My EDC is a Kershaw Ken Onion Blackout. Carried the knife for years, and before that my Dad carried it for a few years. Can't kill it

I like opinels also but for sub 100 I would probably buy a case trapper or whittler pattern knife. I carry an older imperial single bladed knife that I scored for $5 at a flea market now. I have a soft spot for slipjoint knives and smaller blades. The only locking knives I found which I liked was the kabar dosier series which cost around $17 on smkw. That knife was an awesome knife for the value.

I had a Spyderco, but ended up with a Leatherman Sidekick. It's actually retained it's sharpness on the bladed bits better than the spyderco did, and I do stupid crap like prying things up with things that are not made for prying.
