Thanks! I kept getting up and going to the rack to check this puppy out because I couldn't wrap my head around the difference in barrel length. I knew it was correct, no Bubba product, but had never heard of such a critter.
Now it seems that this was a prototype and we'll probably never know how many were produced or survived. I've never seen one in a photo or the flesh and nobody else up on Gun Boards has one.
I checked out the inventory of some European museums but none of them have one either. Considering that there are about fifteen M27 rifles accounted for in the US out of an estimated 1,200 produced there's a very good chance this could be the sole surviving example of the mousqueton version. Uber rare and probably the find of my lifetime.

That's so true. I was sitting next to a guy who was buying all the .30-40 he could get to feed his Krag habit and there was a fair amount of it being sold that day.

Ya I have noticed a lot of their stuff coming for sale lately as it gets harder to get ammo. The guns are usually a little rough, as the amish use em forever and use em hard.

There sales do very well and they get away with selling all sorts of stuff normal folks dont, sort of like buying cigarettes at an indian reservation.

Thanks no need to worry about poaching more of a shotgun guy.

No worries! They seem to handle far more in the way of sporting rifles and shotguns than milsurp stuff. Out of approx. 110 lots roughly 10% were C&R. Most stuff went for below market. From my notes...
    Yugo SKS - $375
    Swiss K31 (marked as Swedish K36) - $150
Russian MN 91/30 (typical refurb) - $175 (yikes!)
    Swedish M38 (also mismarked) - $250
    Turkish Mauser - $130
French MAS 36 (Century refurb, like new) - $175
Rockola M1 Carbine (nice but w. sanded stock) - $1100
1884 Trapdoor (VG bore, finish removed on barrel) - $375
Allen Conversion Trapdoor - (don't remember this one but it went north of $750)
Indian SMLE (60's vintage in VG condition) - $275

Those prices include the auction rip?

No buyer's premium! You have the usual 6% PA sales tax and 3% if you use a CC for payment (no charge for cash or approved check). My M.27 hammered at $400 and I used a CC for payment so I paid $436.72 OTD.
