Agreed. And that list does not cover attorneys, doctors, dentists, or pharmacists. Willing to bet there are even more licensed health professionals that are not on that list of 21.

I wonder what a professional and stationary engineer or Pilots covers? Never had any of those.

Boiler plant operators. One would think that would be under HVACR, but it was regulated long before HVACR came under state regulation.
Stationary engineers vs rail engineers and steamship engineers
And there's a whole Professional Certification Cottage Industry in the IT field, each with the appropriate price tag.

Sounds like the extra burden of regulation has widen the moat for people already holding the licenses. In 10/20 years, the state will relax the regulation when there is a critical shortage.

Now we have the state professional licensing scheme sorted out, any news on the HBAR ban?
MSI news letter The bill (HB 612) that would have banned HBARS and criminalized their possession has not moved out of Committee in the House
I too am a first grade licensed stationary engineer along with holding a master
Hvac license. These licenses are difficult to abtain as Brian knows.
Problem is the state that requires these licene’s to operate a power plant or do commercial heating and a/c work does not provide a easy clear pathway to test or acquire these certificates. What used to take 3 years to test for a license now takes 7 years.
How many high school graduates are going to work thru a 7 year apprenticeship till they can sit to take test for license. Not many. Yet state require that license for an establishment to keep operating under state law.
Yes we have to pay a annual renewal fee to keep license but at what point will there be no more more licensed operators?
Just shows how over regulated M D has become.
Rant over
This bill is officially dead.
No, it's dormant until next year.
